Professor Flemming Besenbacher receives royal honor

On November 2, 2018, Professor Flemming Besenbacher received the title of Commander of the Order of Dannebrog.

In 2007 Professor Flemming Besenbacher received the title of Knight of the Order of Dannebrog. In 2013 Besenbacher further was awarded the title of Knight of 1st Class. On November 2, 2018, Besenbacher was honored by receiving the title of Commander of the Order of Dannebrog.

The Order of Dannebrog is a Danish order of chivalry instituted in 1671. The title is given by Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark.

Flemming Besenbacher is the founder of Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO) and was the Director of iNANO in 2002-2012. You can learn more about Besenbacher and his research here
