At iNANO there is both an automatic fire alarm system and a voice alarm system, which is activated by the automatic fire alarm system.
Evacuation plans have been placed in all corridors throughout the house
- ACTIVATE THE RED ALARM BUTTONS
- (Only if there is a fire or other circumstances arise which requires evacuation and the voice alarm system does NOT sound)
- GO TO THE NEAREST EVACUATION EQUIPMENT

- SAVE PEOPLE IN DANGER (if safe)
- Fire equipment (fire extinguishers and blankets) is available in many corridors and laboratories.
- A defibrillator is available in the entrance hall of building 1590, readily accessible from Gustav Wieds Vej and Langelandsgade
- A first aid kit is available at the student helpers’ office (1590-218)
- EVACUATE THE BUILDING:
- Use the nearest safe and smoke-free escape route.
- It is not allowed to use the elevators
- Go to the Emergency Assembly Point. See location in the picture below on this webpage.
- CALL 1-1-2
- (when you activate the red alarm buttons you MUST always dial 1-1-2)
- MEET THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND INFORM THEM:
- Are there people in the building? Where?
- What caused the evacuation / Where is the problem?
- AT THE ASSEMBLY POINT:
- Inform the permanent staff (if any is present) that you are there (VIP/TAP)
- Point out if you know someone is missing from the buildings
- Stay at the Emergency Assembly point until the fire fighters gives other instructions
- CALL 87 15 16 17
- (AU’s own alarm number – if possible have someone from the permanent staff VIP/TAP make this call)
- NOTE: Access to the laboratories is not allowed until 30 minutes after ventilation has been restored!
