Evacuation drill

As part of the safety procedures, annual evacuation drills must be held at all faculties and in all administrative divisions. This is for the safety of everyone at AU.

We notify members of and students at the iNANO House of the date of the drill with due consideration to laboratory experiments and other daily operations, etc. Make sure to read the information below carefully as the ventilation will be shut down during the drill.

PREPARE FOR THE EVACUATION DRILL

When and where
Where: The evacuation drill takes place in buildings 1590-1593 (all of the iNANO House)
Date and time: Typically in September (will be announced in emails, new letter and info screens). A specific time of the day will not be given.

Information about the evacuation concept at AU
In order to have an efficient evacuation, everyone who spends time at Aarhus University must know the evacuation concept of the university.

Evacuation holders/equipment in the hallways
You should find out where the nearest evacuation holder/equipment is located. Find a picture of one here.

Emergency assembly point
You should find out where the nearest emergency assembly point is by looking in one of the evacuation holders in the hallways or read the fire and evacuation procedure in the iNANO buildings here

Blocking access to the buildings
During the drill, access to the buildings will be blocked by observers to prevent access by outsiders during the exercise.

Valuables
It is important that you secure your own valuables during the exercise. Lock the door to your office or bring your valuables with you when you go to the emergency assembly point.

Weather
Remember outdoor clothes depending on the weather.

Do NOT return to labs immediately after the drill
The ventilation will be turned off during this drill. Thus, you will need to wait an additional 30 min to go back to the lab from when ventilation is re-established.

Please also make sure that you are familiar with the iNANO general safety guidelines.
