Synthesis of Nitrogen-Based Heterocycles with Gold Catalysis

The Danish Council for Independent Research has granted funds for his Synthesis of Nitrogen-Based Heterocycles with Gold Catalysis project.

Transition metal catalysis is an essential tool for contemporary organic synthesis, and is pivotal for obtaining access to pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals, as well as nutrition, cosmetic, and personal care products. In this project he intents to investigate and exploit unprecedented fundamental properties of gold-based catalysts for the development of new carbon-heteroatom bond forming reactions with high atom efficiency and minimum waste with applications for the synthesis of a range of new heterocyclic systems with potential pharmaceutical applications.
